Method #1: Reset the Cash App PIN Using Touch ID
When you set up your Cash App account, you get an option for enabling Touch ID verification. Trust me; it’s a great idea to enable it. The most straightforward way of resetting is by using your Touch ID. Here’s what you need to do.
- Open Cash App on your mobile device. Make sure you are on the home screen.
- Tap on the profile icon on the top-right of the screen. It will show several basic options.
- Tap on “Privacy & Security” below the “Personal” option.
- Tap the option reading “Change Cash PIN” in the “Security” pile. It will ask you for your Touch ID.
- Place your finger or thumb set up with the Cash App Touch ID on your phone’s fingerprint sensor.
- Once your fingerprint is verified, it will redirect you to a new tab where you can enter a new PIN for your Cash App account.
- Enter your new Cash App PIN.
It will reset your Cash App PIN on all devices. Now, you can sign in or withdraw cash using the new PIN. On a side note, make sure you remember this new PIN well. You can also note it down at some safe place.
Method #2: Reset the Cash App PIN Using “Forgot Cash PIN”
The first method assumes that you already had your Touch ID in place beforehand. What if you don’t? Luckily, there’s another way if you don’t have a Touch ID. Here’s what you need to do.
- Open the Cash App and navigate to the home screen.
- Tap on the profile icon located on the top-right of your phone’s screen.
- Tap on the “Privacy & Security” option.
- Tap on the “Change Cash PIN” option at the end of the “Security” pile. It will ask you for your Touch ID.
- Place any of your fingers or thumb on your phone’s fingerprint sensor. A “Try Again” message will pop up.
- Tap on the “Enter Cash PIN” option in this message. It will redirect you to a new tab.
- Tap on “Forgot Cash PIN” at the screen’s bottom center. It will redirect you to a tab with a code input box.
- You will receive a code via a text message on the mobile number synced with your Cash App.
- Go to the message you’ve received on your Messages app. Copy or memorize it.
- Enter this code in the input box in your Cash App.
- Enter the last four digits of your SSN (Social Security Number). Now, you can enter the new PIN.
After that, you will receive a text message from the Cash App confirming the change of the PIN. On a side note, setting up your Cash App account’s Touch ID is advisable.
Method #3: Reset the Cash App PIN Using the Old PIN
If you remember the old Cash PIN but want to change it anyway, you can follow the procedure in the previous method up to the sixth step. Then, follow these steps.
- Enter your old Cash PIN.
