The easiest way to turn your TV into a monitor is by using an HDMI cable by following these steps.

  1. Buy a compatible HDMI cable from a reputable source.  
  2. Plug one end of the HDMI cable to the back of the TV’s HDMI port.
  3. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port of your computer.
  4. Turn on your TV and press the “Input” or “Source” button on your TV’s remote.

You can quickly turn your TV into a monitor by connecting your Mac computer to it through AirPlay. However, you need to ensure that you have either an Apple TV streaming device or an AirPlay 2-enabled smart TV.

  4. On your Chromebook, click “Time” and ensure “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” options are turned on.
  5. Click “Cast devices available”.
  6. Select the content you want to cast to your TV screen (i.e., desktop).
  7. Click “Share”.

Your Chromebook will now cast the screen to your TV. If you want to stop sharing your Chromebook screen on your TV, click “Time” and “Stop” next to the “Casting Screen” option.

It is possible to cast Windows desktop to your TV on any computer. To do this, launch Chrome, click the three dots (menu icon), click “Cast” > “Sources” > “Cast Desktop”, and select your TV from the list.
